What is ANIMA? 

ANIMA: "The inner personality that is turned toward the unconscious of the individual that manifests itself in what some call AURA or ENERGY."

Every being in existence has an AURA. ANIMA is the channeling of the beings AURA, alive or otherwise.

The ANIMA cascas is based off these ancient instruments used for channeling the anima of ancestral and animal spirits through music, dance, martial arts, hypnotism and other ritualistic practices. Traditionally the faces or bodies of these anima spirits would be carved into the gourds in the shape of the anima as a symbolic aid to the cascas player, who would first have to go through a series of grueling challenges to determine what their own spirit animal may be and the spirit animal of their ancestors and idols. By studying the meaning of each spirit animal and playing a cascas in the shape of them, the cascas player can deepen their understanding of channeling that ANIMA for whatever art form they are pursuing.
